The City of Toronto's Contribution Rebate Program provides rebates to eligible individuals who make monetary contributions to participating candidates.

For total eligible contributions between $25.01 and $300, the rebate is 75% of the contribution. Above $300, the rebate increases according to the City's tiered formula, to a maximum rebate of $1,000.

Your rebate is calculated based on your total eligible contributions to all candidates participating in the Contribution Rebate Program, not solely your contribution to this campaign.

Municipal campaign contributions are not tax-deductible. The Contribution Rebate Program is a separate City of Toronto program.

After you contribute, the campaign will provide you with an official Contribution Rebate Receipt and Application Form.

The City's online rebate application for the 2026 municipal election will be available beginning in October 2026. You can submit your application online or complete and mail the form to Toronto Elections.

Toronto Elections must receive rebate claims by 4:30 p.m. on December 30, 2027. Rebate cheques are expected to be issued in early 2028.

• Contributions may only be made by individuals who normally reside in Ontario.

• Corporations and trade unions cannot contribute.

• The maximum contribution to a candidate for Mayor of Toronto is $2,500.

• Only monetary contributions are eligible for the Contribution Rebate Program.

• Total eligible contributions of $25 or less do not qualify for a rebate.

• If your total contributions to this campaign exceed $100, your name and address will be publicly disclosed by the City of Toronto.
